International English Day is a holiday celebrated annually on April 23. It was founded by the UN in 2010 to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity, as well as to promote the equal use of all six UN official languages.
The date of April 23 was not accidentally chosen, it is the birthday and death of William Shakespeare, which is traditionally celebrated around the world.
Today, first-year undergraduate students under the guidance of English teacher Dina Igorevna also joined in the celebration. Students prepared interesting English-language presentations about the life and work of William Shakespeare, solved puzzles and tests for English, and sang songs in a foreign language.
Remember, learning a foreign language opens up many opportunities for a successful career, exciting travel and meeting interesting people!
